When polystyrene resin assisted with polymer is heated and mixed, the catalyst is injected, and then the continuous obturator foam is extruded to be the rigid foam plastic board, which is called the plastic extruded board. The internal structure is independent obturator bubbles, and it is one kind of environment-friendly thermal insulation material with excellent performance such as high crush resistance, low water absorption, moisture resistance, airtight, lightweight, corrosion resistance, ultra-anti-aging(  almost no aging after long-term use), low coefficient of thermal conductivity and so on.

Extruded board is widely used in the thermal insulation of the dry wall, flat concrete roof and steel structure roof, thermal insulation and moisture-proof of the low temperature storage ground, parking platform, airport runway, highway and other fields, and control of the ground frost heaving, which is the insulation and moisture resistance material with inexpensive and wonderful quality in the current construction industry.

Performance characteristics

1. Good thermal insulation

With the characteristics of high heat resistance, low linear, low expansion ratio, the percentage of close area of its structure is more than 99%, forming the vacuum layer to avoid air flow cooling and ensure the insulation performance lasting and stable. Relative to the 80% percentage of close area of the foam polyurethane, the leading advantage is self-evident. Practice has proved that the thermal insulation effect of the 20 mm thick XPS extruded thermal insulation boards is equivalent to that of 50 mm thick foam polystyrene, and 120 mm thick cement perlite. So this material is currently the best choice for building insulation materials.

 
2. Compression resistance with excellent high strength

 
Due to the special structure of the XPS board, it has the high compressive strength and strong impact resistance. According to the different models and thickness of the XPS board, its compressive strength can reach more than 150 ~ 500 Kpa, and it can bear the ground load of each system, which is widely applied in geothermal engineering, highway, airport runway, square ground, large cold storage, vehicle interior decoration insulation and other fields.

3. Excellent water-repellence and moisture resistance

Water absorption is an important parameter to measure the thermal insulation material. When the thermal insulation material absorbing water, the thermal insulation performance will decline accordingly.  Under the condition of low temperature, the absorbed water will easily freeze , and will destroy the structure of the thermal insulation material, so the compression resistance and thermal insulation performance of the board will decline. As the polystyrene molecular structure itself  does not absorb water, molecular structure of the board is stable and with no clearance, which has solved the  leakage, seepage, frosted, condensation, and other issues of other materials.

4. Lightweight and convenient to use

 
Complete obturator foam chemical structure of the XPS board and its honeycomb physical structure, make it have the characteristics of light weight and high strength, which is convenient for cutting and transportation, moreover not easy to be damaged and easy to be installed.

In the long term usage, it will be no aging, decomposition, or produce harmful substances, and its chemical performance is extremely stable, which will not be degradation due to absorbing water and corrosion to make its performance decline, and even under the environment of high temperature, which can still maintain its superior performance. According to the relevant data, the XPS extruded thermal insulation boards still can maintain the outstanding performance even used for 30 ~ 40 years, and it won't decompose or mildew, with no volatile toxic substances.
